Please help spread the word: free COVID-19 testing is available for DC residents.
Health care providers across the District have free testing for COVID-19 and the District is operating free testing sites at the United Medical Center in Ward 8 and at the UDC Bertie Backus campus in Ward 5. (A list of testing locations can be found on coronavirus.dc.gov/testing.) We are sending out information by mail and making phone calls, but we also ask that when you call seniors in your life, give them the phone number for our COVID-19 testing hotline: 1-855-363-0333. In order to flatten the curve and contain the virus, we need to know who has COVID-19 and who has been exposed to it. That is why we continue to look for ways to expand testing in DC and why, this week, we established a Contact Trace Force at DC Health.
Currently, and for the past few years, we have had 13 week schedules. For the upcoming schedules that begin on July 5, we are reducing them to 6 weeks, followed by 7 week schedules (Aug 16 - Oct 3). Our plan is to return to 13 weeks for the 4Q cycle. The CO schedules will remain on the 13 weeks.

CWA's Health and Safety department has established a process for locals to report on what protections employers have put in place as well as for members to report any incidents of exposure or infection. If you have been exposed to COVID-19 or are experiencing symptoms consistent with infection, contact your healthcare provider immediately and follow reporting procedures established by your employer. Also notify your CWA Local or District as soon as possible.
