CWA Local 2336 Electiion Nomination Notiice 

CWA Local 2336 Nomination Notice

Nominations and election are being held for the offices of President, Executive Vice President, Vice President, and Secretary-Treasurer. The term of office is three (3) years. The nomination for the offices of President, Executive Vice President, Vice President, and Secretary-Treasurer also constitute the nominations of the same member as a delegate to CWA Conventions held during the term of office for which the election is being conducted.

How to Nominate

Article 12, Section 1 (c) of CWA Local 2336 Bylaws state, "Local Officers shall be nominated by petition signed and dated by twenty-five (25) members of the Local in good standing. "

Nomination petitions may be submitted via email to the election committee at or OR in person to 151 Riggs Rd NE, Washington, DC 20011. Nominations must be submitted no later than September 21, 2020 at 4:00 pm.

( or available by contacting the Election Supervisor Derrick Griffin at (202) 489-9019.

Nomination Petition

After the nomination deadline, potential candidate's nomination petitions will be reviewed and verified by the Election Supervisor and Election Committee. Nominee shall designate within five (5) days, in writing, their acceptance of the nomination.

There are NO other methods to nominate candidates outside of petition.

Qualifications to run for union office:

CWA Constitution provides in Article 4, Section D that only members of the Union in good standing shall be eligible to vote or hold elective office. No erected officer of the Union or of a Local shall take office unless the elected officer is eligible under the Constitution and Federal or Provincial Law. Good standing as defined by CWA is a member no more than one month in arrears in dues payments

Coronavirus/COVID-19 Updates

Verizon News

Currently, and for the past few years, we have had 13 week schedules.  For the upcoming schedules that begin on July 5, we are reducing them to 6 weeks, followed by 7 week schedules (Aug 16 - Oct 3).  Our plan is to return to 13 weeks for the 4Q cycle.  The CO schedules will remain on the 13 weeks.

PIW Bargaining Report #28

The Union and Company met to continue negotiations Wednesday, November 6th and Thursday, November 7th, 2019. During these 2-day sessions, PIW handed over job description information that the Union had requested over 4 months ago. The Union bargaining committee spent time reviewing the job descriptions since PIW has a proposal on the table to consolidate and/or change some existing job titles. As a result of that review, the Union submitted an additional request to clarify some of the titles.

Breaking! AT&T Mobility Contract Ratified

CWA members overwhelmingly voted to ratify the tentative agreement covering 21,000 AT&T Mobility workers under the Orange Contract. The new contract offers more pay, more job security, and more work for CWA members. Congratulations on a hard-fought contract!

UPO New Contract

Congratulations to our UPO Members! CWA Local 2336 presented a fair contract to the collective bargaining unit members and they overwhelmingly voted in favor of the new contract. The new contract was signed by CWA and UPO officials and is effective January 1, 2020.

Breaking News: Frontier Communications Declares Bankruptcy

April 16, 2020 Frontier Communications filed for bankruptcy this week. CWA members and leaders have been preparing for the bankruptcy for several months as the company's finances continued to deteriorate. In a message to CWA members, Frontier stated its intention to honor CWA's collective bargaining agreements.

Verizon Contract News

Verizon Contracts Ratified

The agreement to extend the contracts between CWA and Verizon has been ratified by the combined results of the voting in the Mid-Atlantic bargaining unit.  Also ratified, is the extension at Verizon Connected Solutions and the first contract at Verizon Wireless in Hazleton, PA.  See the Press Release below.
