The Union and the Company met on Monday May 1, 2017. The Company passed several proposals to the Union, which we will be reviewing these proposals. The Union also submitted a counter proposal to the Company and both sides have tentively agreed to one proposal. We were scheduled to meet on Tuesday May 2, but that meeting had to be canceled.

 CWA/PIW BARGAINING REPORT #9 The Union and the Company met Tuesday February 14, 2017, for another day of bargaining. The Company informed the Union that the 2016, “Annual Employee Bonus” will not be paid in 2017, because PIW missed the $1 million dollar revenue mark that triggers the bonus payout.

CWA/PIW BARGAINING REPORT # 7 The Union and Company resumed bargaining 3 days this week after breaking for the holiday. On Wednesday January 11, 2017, the Union opened the bargaining session by submitting to the company an “information request” which both sides engaged in open and frank discussions concerning various issues.

The morning session started with the Union submitting to the Company a proposal on “occupational safety & health”, with the focus of the discussion being on the safety.

 CWA/PIW BARGAINING REPORT # 5 The Union and the Company met Tuesday, November 15, 2016 for the first of a two day bargaining session. The morning bargaining session started with the Union presenting our counter proposal on “discipline”, and presenting our proposal for “job postings & bidding”.

Earlier this week, DC nurses flyered at the Renaissance Hotel downtown,  just before Drexel University president John Fry was to speak.  Fry is a board member for hospital chain Community Health Systems (CHS), who NNU, which represents the nurses, says has refused to listen to nurses’ concerns about patient care and safety at hospitals around the country.

CWA/PIW BARGAINING REPORT #4 October 27, 2016 The Union and the company met again today, Thursday, October 27, 2016. In the morning session, PIW responded to CWA’s counter on discipline. CWA spent the remainder of the morning reviewing PIW’s proposals from yesterday.

CWA/PIW BARGAINING REPORT #2  October 21, 2016 The Union and the Company met on Thursday, October 6, 2016 for a one day bargaining session. The two sides agreed to extend the contract 60 days to allow each side to continue negotiations. In the morning session the negotiating teams reviewed the information that was requested by CWA.

The 2016 Bargaining Survey's will be mailed out to every member at PIW on Friday August 12, 2016. Please take the time to fill out the survey, as this is a way to let your voice be heard in the bargaining process. The survey is to be returned, via return envelope, to the Local by Monday August 29, 2016. Bargaining starts between CWA and PIW on September 14, 2016.

Nurses at the St. Joseph Campus of the Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, NY, members of CWA Local 1168, want a fair contract. Negotiations for a new contract covering the 200 nurses got underway with the hospital's parent employer, Catholic Health, on June 29. The current contract expires on Aug. 31.
